On Thursday, February 24 the Foothill Symphonic Band and String Orchestra traveled to Valle Verde Elementary School to perform for about 100 fifth grade students. About 120 Foothill students made the trip. The performance featured individual musicians demonstrating their instruments as well as full group performances of several different selections by each group.
A short pamphlet about the music program at Foothill Middle School was distributed to each fifth grade student.

On Monday, February 28 the Foothill Jazz Band (21 students) traveled to three different elementary schools to assist our administrators with their annual Introduction to Foothill presentation. At Bancroft Elementary, we performed for about 60 students, at Walnut Acres about 125, and at Highlands about 50. These performances were extremely well-received--in fact, the Foothill Jazz Band was probably the fifth grade students' favorite part of the assembly!
